One of the state's and probably the nation's biggest recruits in the 2015 class received a big-time offer Friday, according to Gladewater head coach Jerrod Baugh.

Alabama offered defensive tackle Daylon Mack, giving the sophomore seven offers: the Tide, Oklahoma, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech.

The 6-foot-2, 297-pound Mack recently attended spring games at Texas and Texas A&M and came away impressed by both. Mack has been leaning toward the Aggies and has considered committing soon, Baugh also confirmed. But Mack has said in the recent past he could also take his time, especially considering that he's in the spring of his sophomore year.

An Alabama offer could obviously throw a wrench in a shorter commitment timeline, especially considering Mack's position on the field and the Crimson Tide's sterling defensive reputation.

Mack had 62 tackles, 16 for loss, six sacks, and six fumble recoveries in 2012 to earn ETSN.fm Football Super Team Defensive Newcomer of the Year honors.
