Kamden Perry is no longer waiting.

Perry, a 2019 receiver at Longview, tweeted Saturday that Alcorn State became the first school to offer him a scholarship.

Perry was a top weapon for Longview, racking up more than 600 yards receiving in 2017. The Lobos advanced to the state semifinal, where they fell to Hewitt Midway. Perry played a big role in the Lobo's defeat of Lufkin in the regional final, catching the winning touchdown pass.

Alcorn State competes in the Southwestern Athletic Conference of the NCAA's FCS subdivision. The Braves finished 2017-18 with a record of 7-5.

Perry, like all juniors, is first eligible to sign with any team that offers him in December.
