Alex Cooper’s Five TD Passes Spark Mesquite’s 51-9 Rout of Tyler Lee

MESQUITE -- Alex Cooper passed for 257 yards and five touchdowns, leading the Mesquite Skeeters past Tyler Lee, 51-9, Friday night at E.H. Hanby Stadium.

The win kept Mesquite (9-0, 5-0) unbeaten on the season, while the Red Raiders (1-7, 0-4) dropped their fourth straight.

Cooper completed 15 of 17 attempts, connected with three different receivers on scoring plays. Rashard Higgins had three TD receptions, finishing with four catches for 73 yards. Jordan Bracy and Junior Session had the other scoring receptions for the Skeeters.

Marcus White led Lee on the ground with 73 yards and a touchdown on 18 attempts. Christian Diosdado completed 9 of 14 attempts for 73 yards.

Mesquite closes out the regular season next Friday at Rockwall, while Lee plays host to Longview.
