TATUM -- No. 18 Tatum used an 18-0 run to begin the game en route to a 58-32 win over rival White Oak in District 17-2A girls basketball action Tuesday at Eagle Coliseum.

Alexes Bell led Tatum (17-3, 6-0) with 22 points, seven rebounds, six steals and four assists, while Kaylah Starling added 16 points, 13 rebounds and two assists in the dominating win.

White Oak (8-8, 4-2) had just three players score on the night, almost all of its production coming from Makenzie Goll and Cayman Sutton. Goll finished with 16 points, six rebounds and two steals, while Sutton added 14 points, which included two 3-pointers in the losing effort.

Tatum's full-court press helped the Lady Eagles rack up 16 steals on the night.

White Oak recovered from its dreadful start with a 15-4 run that cut the Tatum lead to 22-15 early in the second quarter. But the Lady Eagles responded by scoring 12 of the game's next 15 points to go into halftime with a 34-18 lead.

Back-to-back buckets from Goll sliced Tatum's lead to 42-27 midway through the third quarter, but a 12-0 run to close the period ended any hopes of a comeback.

White Oak hosts Jefferson, while Tatum faces Elysian Fields on the road Friday as district action continues.
