BETHEL -- The Alto Yellow Jackets returned to the field for the first time since the loss of junior Cam'Ron Matthews on Monday night.

And they made it count.

Kennen Johnson and Fred Thacker ran roughshod on the Cayuga defense, combining for 454 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground in Alto's 55-14 win, which kept the Yellow Jackets (8-0, 3-0) on top in District 11-2A Division I.

Johnson ran 10 times for 259 yards and four touchdowns, while Thacker scored on three of his eight rushing attempts and finished with 195 yards. Johnson reached paydirt on runs of 79, 38, 5 and 57 yards, while Thacker's scoring runs were from 90, 34 and 17 yards out.

Quarterback Tristian Croft led Cayuga, completing 4 of 9 passes for 157 yards and two touchdowns. One score went to Lane Brogdon for 83 yards and the other was a 17-yard pass to Colt Laughery.

Cayuga fell to 2-6 on the season and 2-1 in district with the loss.
