LONGVIEW -- Chapel Hill relied on a solid passing game Friday night as senior quarterback Andrew Black threw five touchdowns in a 49-14 win over Spring Hill at Panther Stadium.

Chapel Hill senior receiver Gabriel Robinson caught seven passes for 153 yards, including touchdowns of 39, 40, and 41 yards. He also blocked a field goal and intercepted a pass.

Black finished 19-for-27 for 318 yards and the five touchdowns—the other two found Jeffery Minor and Deundre Hordge from 6 and 4 yards out, respectively. Black also ran for 108 yards on only six carries.

Chapel Hill (4-3, 2-1) outgained Spring Hill 618-297. The Panthers fell to 2-5, 0-3 with the loss.

Spring Hill limited Chapel Hill to 21 points in the first half and came up with big defensive stops to keep the game in reach. Nick Irwin recorded a sack and recovered a fumble for his Panther defense, and Jacob Rooney completed a 37-yard pass to Michael Spurrier that helped set up a one-yard touchdown run to cut the lead 21-7 at the half.

Rooney completed 13 of 20 passes for 179 yards and two interceptions. Junior Waylon McFadin caught five passes for 122 yards and classmate Michael Spurrier hauled in four for 41 yards. Nick McKee led all Panther rushers with 58 yards on 15 carries.

Spring Hill, trailing 21-7 coming out of halftime, fought to make it a contest. Rooney led a seven-play drive — including two long passes to McFadin for 55 and 20 yards — before Rooney called his own number for the three-yard keeper to close the gap, 21-14.

Chapel Hill scored on four of its next five possessions — three on passes from Black to Minor, Robinson, and Hordge -- and the last a two-yard run from Jesse Mumphrey.

Chapel Hill hosts Bullard (3-2, 1-0) next week, while Spring Hill travels to Henderson (1-4, 0-1) to continue District 16-3A action.
