Angel Garza’s Field Goal in Overtime the Difference in Carlisle’s 20-17 Win At Harleton
HARLETON -- Angel Garza connected on a 23-yard field goal in overtime to send the Carlisle Indians to a 20-17 win over Harleton on Friday.
Garza's 34-yard field goal in the fourth quarter gave the Indians (5-2, 2-0 in District 9-A Division I) a 17-14 lead before Harleton (5-2, 1-1) kicker Marche Zimicki tied the game in regulation with a 25-yard field goal of his own.
Carlisle's Gustavo Martinez rushed for 105 yards and touchdown runs of 5 and 15 yards in the second quarter, the last of which gave the Indians a 14-7 lead into halftime. Taylor Henson of Harleton evened the game with a 1-yard scoring run in the third quarter.
Indians quarterback Caleb Colley ran for 74 yards on 13 attempts, was 2-of-3 for 36 yards through the air and intercepted a pass on defense. Tiburcio Garcia added 63 yards on 12 rushing attempts in the win.
Carlisle hosts Timpson, while Harleton is at Big Sandy next Friday night.
