DeMarvion Overshown hit the 30-offer mark Sunday thanks to a new college football scholarship opportunity extended by Arizona State.

Overshown, East Texas' most recruited football player within the 2018 class, reported the news directly to ETSN.fm.

The Sun Devils program joins heavy traffic for the 6-foot-4 and 196-pound junior Arp safety. Overshown has four other offers from the Pac-12 alone -- Colorado, Stanford, UCLA and USC.

Along with SMU running back signee Kayce Medlock, Overshown helped guide Arp to a Class 3A Division II state semifinal appearance last season. Arp missed the state championship game by one point.

The safety recorded 173 tackles and four total takeaways in 15 games played. He also caught four balls for 121 yards as a receiver.

Arizona State surged to out to a 5-1 record last season, but it dropped its final six games for a 5-7 record. It was the first time in head coach Todd Graham's four-year career with the Sun Devils that the program did not reach a bowl game.

The Sun Devils do have 29 bowl game appearances in their history, however. Arizona State's success in the 1960s and a lack of interest from existing bowl games helped create the Fiesta Bowl in Tempe, Ariz., and the Sun Devils have been to the bowl game they inspired six times since its inception in 1971.

The Fiesta Bowl, which is currently one of the most important bowl games, was hosted at Arizona State's Sun Devil Stadium until 2006 and then moved to nearby Glendale, Ariz.

Arizona State has produced 17 consensus All-Americans in its 119-year history. More obscure polls awarded the program national championships in 1970 and 1975.

Like all college football prospects currently in their junior year of high school, Overshown will become eligible to sign with any school that offers him in February.
