There aren't too many pure running backs in all of East Texas -- regardless of classification -- better than Arp senior standout Marcalas Johnson. His performance Friday night showed exactly why.

Johnson rushed for 241 yards and an eye-catching seven touchdowns on only 12 attempts in Arp's 65-38 rout of Frankston in the regular-season finale for both teams.

For his efforts, Johnson is the ETSN.fm/Dairy Queen Offensive Player of the Week, following in the footsteps of Tenaha's Cobe Caraway, who pulled down the honor a week ago.

Johnson (5-9, 180), who holds an FBS offer from Colorado State, averaged more than 20 yards per carry vs. Frankston and scored more than half of the times he touched the ball.

For the season, the Arp ball carrier has run for 1,215 yards and 15 touchdowns with an average of 11.6 yards per rush.

Johnson and his Arp (8-1) teammates begin the Class 3A Division II playoffs Friday night in Mount Pleasant against Hooks (8-2). Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. from Sam Parker Field.
