Athens Scores 3-1 Win Over Whitehouse In Soccer Season Opener

ATHENS -- The Athens Hornets began the soccer season with a 3-1 win over Whitehouse on Tuesday night.

Jonathan Marron scored two of the goals for Athens -- one on a penalty kick and the other assisted by Efrain Hernandez. The Hornets' other goal came courtesy of Hernandez off an assist from Jordy Castaneda.

Athens takes part in the Pine Tree tournament this weekend in Longview. Whitehouse, meanwhile, participates in the Brenham Showcase this weekend.
