Auburn Offers Longview’s Haynes King
Another major Division I FBS scholarship offer arrived Thursday for Longview 2020 quarterback Haynes King.
The Lobos' signal-caller reported via Twitter that Auburn has offered.
King (6-2, 170) now has seven FBS offers. In addition to Auburn, he has opportunities from Arkansas, Houston, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana-Monroe, Southern Miss, and Texas State.
Last season, King's first at quarterback, he passed for 2,106 yards with 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He did not take over the Lobos' starting job until Week 5 of the regular season.
As a starter, King helped Longview reel off 10 consecutive victories en route to a 13-2 record and the program's first appearance in the state semifinals since 2010.
Auburn, like Arkansas, is in the West Division of the SEC. The Tigers are coached by Gus Malzahn and finished the 2017 season with an overall record of 10-4 (7-1 in the SEC).
King, like all incoming juniors, is first eligible to sign with any program that offers him in December of 2019.
