HUNTINGTON -- The duo of quarterback Austin Sheridan and running back Zack Gray helped Elkhart to a 41-20 win over Huntington on Friday night.

Sheridan completed 15 of 18 passes for 236 yards and a touchdown, and added three touchdowns on the ground. Gray, meanwhile, ran for 149 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries and caught two passes for 72 yards and another score.

Alex Flores also provided an 89-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the win for Elkhart (2-2).

Defensively, the Elks were led by linebacker Chris Box, who recorded a team-high 20 tackles. Taner Tunstall had 14 tackles, while Traylon Swanson finished with nine tackles (two for loss) and a sack.

Elkhart returns to action Oct. 10 at home against Eustace to begin District 11-3A Division I action, while Huntington (1-4) hosts Cleveland Tarkington the same night in the District 8-4A Division II opener.
