LONGVIEW -- Alec Bradshaw homered and drove in four runs, leading Longview to a 10-0 rout of Mesquite Horn in five innings on Friday in District 12-5A action.

Bradshaw added a double and scored three runs for Longview (14-8, 5-4), which also got a homer from Reid Russell, who had two of the Lobos' 14 hits. Dez Chumley was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI and Ben Wooley collected two hits for Longview.

Spencer Barton allowed just two hits in five innings to earn the win. He struck out three and walked one.

Longview is back in action Tuesday at North Mesquite.

Whitehouse Rolls Past Jacksonville

WHITEHOUSE -- Michael Nuon, Aaron Clemons and Derek Clemons each had three RBIs, leading Whitehouse to a 15-0 win over Jacksonville in four innings Friday night.

Patrick Mahomes struck out seven in four perfect innings on the mound.

Whitehouse (18-6, 7-0 in District 16-4A) racked up seven extra-base hits on the night. Rex Swinney had two doubles, Ryan Cheatham, Eric Munoz, Nuon and Mahomes also doubled, while Aaron Clemons had a triple.

The Wildcats' season continues Saturday at Rockwall-Heath in non-district action. Whitehouse resumes 16-4A play Tuesday at Nacogdoches, while Jacksonville's next game is at home against John Tyler on Tuesday.

Carthage Downs Jasper

CARTHAGE -- JayDon Day struck out seven in a complete-game effort as Carthage beat Jasper 6-1 on Friday.

Sammy Chhor had an inside-the-park home run, a double, and two RBIs, while Blake Bogenschutz had two hits and two RBIs.

The win pushed Carthage to 20-5 overall and 6-2 in District 20-3A, giving the Bulldogs their 11th consecutive 20-win season.

Elkhart Routs Groveton

ELKHART -- The Elkhart Elks avenged their only loss of the District 19-2A season with an 11-1 rout of Groveton on Friday night.

Elkhart (22-5, 9-1) took control with a five-run second inning.

Jordan White collected the win on the mound, striking out eight and allowing six hits.

Elkhart is back in action Saturday at Corsicana Mildred in a non-district affair. The Elks' district campaign continues Friday at Nacogdoches Central Heights.

Bullard Brook Hill Too Much For Dallas First Baptist

BULLARD -- The duo of Mike Greening and Kendall Kerns combined for five hits and six RBIs, leading the Bullard Brook Hill Guard to an easy 18-0 win over Dallas First Baptist in four innings Friday.

Ryan Young, Collin Mondrik, Drew Robertson, Jonah Gonzales, Blake Maddox and Daniel Priddy all contributed two RBIs in the onslaught.

Priddy got the win, scattering five hits and striking out six in four innings.

Brook Hill's next game is Tuesday at Richardson Canyon Creek.

SOFTBALL

No. 25 Winnsboro Overpowers Lone Oak

LONE OAK -- The 25th-ranked Winnsboro Lady Raiders scored a 16-5 win over Lone Oak in five innings Friday in District 14-2A action.

Freshman Kasey Thomas led Winnsboro (17-7-1, 8-5), going 3-for-5 with a homer, two doubles and five RBIs. Danielle Gregory had two doubles, walked three times and scored three runs. Brenda Jongsma and Kim Jongsma each had RBI doubles, while Reigann Barnhart had two hits and scored three runs.

Kim Jongsma was the winning pitcher, allowing five runs on four hits with five strikeouts.

Winnsboro's season continues Tuesday at Alba-Golden in the regular-season finale.

New Diana Takes Down Elysian Fields

DIANA -- Courtney Rogers carried a perfect game into the seventh inning, leading New Diana to a 7-1 win over Elysian Fields on Friday, a win that wrapped up the District 17-2A championship for the Lady Eagles.

Rogers struck out four and allowed just one hit on the night.

New Diana (11-1 in district) was led at the plate by Kayli Morvan, Kimmy Hendricks and Khelseigh Posey, who had two hits apiece.

Keely Howard (11-3) suffered the loss for Elysian Fields (9-2 in district. She allowed two earned runs on eight hits with four strikeouts and one walk.

New Diana is at Union Grove on Tuesday, while EF faces Tatum at home on Tuesday.
