TEXARKANA -- Longview continued its impressive start to the 2013 season with a pair of dominant wins Saturday at the Texas High Challenge.

Longview hammered Lake Hamilton (Ark.) 17-0 before beating El Dorado (Ark.) 11-8.

The Lobos improved to 7-0 with the wins. Against Lake Hamilton, Reid Russell went 3-for-4 with his fourth home run of the season and three RBIs, while Will Bradshaw struck out five and allowed one hit in four innings.

Longview's Judson Murry was 3-for-3 with a team-leading five RBIs, while Dezmond Chumley went 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Alec Bradshaw was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Tre Allen tripled and drove in one run.

Tucker Irwin Delivers in Nacogdoches' Win Over Tyler Lee

KILGORE -- Nacogdoches notched a walk-off win against Tyler Lee on Saturday at the Oil Belt Classic baseball tournament at Driller Park.

Tucker Irwin delivered a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the seventh for a 5-4 Nacogdoches win that gave the Dragons a 4-0 record at the Oil Belt Classic. Lee finished the event with a 1-3 record.

Nacogdoches held four opponents to 12 total runs in its four games at the event.

Carthage Concludes Oil Belt Classic with Victory Against Kilgore

KILGORE -- Blake Bogenschutz got the win and Tyler Musgrove got the save in Carthage's 8-3 victory against Kilgore on Saturday night at Driller Park.

The win gave Carthage a 3-1 record at the Oil Belt Classic with the Bulldogs' only loss coming to Hallsville on Friday. Carthage, which is 8-2 and hasn't lost to anyone other than Hallsville, beat Queen City 2-1 earlier Saturday.

Kilgore finished the tournament 1-3.

Jansen McCurdy Leads White Oak Past Pittsburg

HENDERSON -- Jansen McCurdy went 3-for-4 with three triples, two runs, and one stolen base in White Oak's 6-2 win against Pittsburg on Saturday at the Mahlon Acres Varsity Baseball Tournament.

The performance capped a big week for McCurdy, who hit .461 with two home runs, seven runs, and a 6-for-6 steals effort.

White Oak's Erick Wilkinson got the win. He struck out six and allowed only two hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Elkhart Wins Leon Classic Title

JEWETT -- Elkhart ripped Buffalo 14-4 in six innings in the Leon Classic championship game Saturday behind Jacob Cheatham's 3-for-4 performance.

Cheatham singled twice, doubled once, and drove in two runs. Brian JOhnson was 3-for-3 with four runs and two steals, while Hunter Parker got his second win of the week (beat Van on Tuesday) after throwing 5 1/3 innings.

Elkhart's Jackson Adair finished the game in relief. The Elks scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth to end the game with the 10-run rule.

Carlisle Shuts Out Sabine

DOUGLASS -- Gunner Baker improved to 3-0 on the season, pitching five shutout innings in a 6-0 win against Sabine at the Douglass Tournament on Saturday.

Baker, who drove in a run at the plate, struck out 10, walked one, and limited Sabine to four hits as Carlisle improved to a perfect 7-0.

Carlisle's Caleb Colley led the Indians with a 2-for-3 performance, which included a solo home run. Zach Brightwell went 2-for-3. Shadow Sanders, Ben Goss, Justin McMurtry, and Ty Baker had an RBI apiece.

Carlisle opens district play Tuesday at Union Hill.

Rusk Finishes Undefeated Tournament Performance with Shutout Win

HALLSVILLE -- Behind Alabama signee Sydney Littlejohn, Rusk shut out Van 4-0 on Saturday to conclude the Lady Eagles' strong run through the Hallsville Tournament field.

Rusk went 6-0 and did not allow a run during the event.

Troup Opens District with Shutout of Sabine

LIBERTY CITY -- Josee Ross shut down Sabine, limiting the Lady Cardinals to two hits in a 5-0 Troup shutout victory Saturday to open district play.

Ross struck out 11 and walked one while holding Sabine to an .083 batting average. Ross also doubled at the plate.

Troup's Katelyn Standley went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs, while Caitlin Tomlin was 2-for-3 with a double and one RBI. Bethany Mason had one hit. Lee Ann Loyd scored twice.

Troup scored four runs in the third and one in the fifth.

Lufkin Wins Silver Bracket Crown

COLLEGE STATION -- Lufkin won the silver bracket championship at the A&M Consolidated Tournament over the weekend.

Lufkin beat Brenham to claim the title and finish 4-2 at the event.
