MESQUITE -- Longview improved to 8-0 in the season with a 7-1 win at Mesquite in Tuesday's District 12-5A opener.

Spencer Barton pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts and three walks. He scattered five hits and did not allow a run after the first inning. He also went 2-for-4 at the plate and drove in two runs.

Longview's Tre Allen went 4-for-4 with two RBIs, while Reid Russell had two RBIs.

Landon Brune Leads Marshall Over Atlanta

MARSHALL -- Landon Brune pitched a complete game to lead Marshall to a 2-1 win against Atlanta on Tuesday night.

Brune, who improved to 2-0, struck out 10 batters. Brandon Bilnoski knocked in the game-winning run with a walk-off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh that scored Staylen Roach, who led off with a tripe.

Atlanta led 1-0 after a third-inning run before Marshall (3-6) tied the game in the fifth when Josh Cole scored after doubling.

Marshall plays Nederland at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Lufkin Tournament.

Center Rolls to 8-1 District-Opening Win Over Carthage

CENTER -- Center downed rival Carthage 8-1 in Tuesday night's District 20-3A opener.

Jacob Mitchell got the win on the mound.

The loss dropped Carthage to 8-3 overall and was the Bulldogs' first that did not come against Hallsville.

Lindale Rallies Late to Edge Pittsburg

PITTSBURG -- Lindale scored three runs in the sixth inning for a 4-3 victory over Pittsburg on Tuesday night.

Jesse Valdez doubled and drove in the game-winning run for Lindale (6-5). Kyle Bond doubled and drove in two for the Eagles, which trailed 3-0 after the first inning.

Sam Sitton (4-0) remained perfect on the mound. He went seven innings, allowing three runs on nine hits with six strikeouts and two walks.

Lindale is back in action next Monday at home with a doubleheader against Paris North Lamar.

Winnsboro's Luke Tubbetts Throws No-Hitter

Luke Tubbets allowed no hits through five innings and struck out six in Winnsboro's 11-1 win over Como-Pickton on Tuesday in District 14-2A action.

Tebbetts did allow an unearned run for Winnsboro.

David Santoy went 3-for-3, while Jeremy Lawrence was 2-for-4 at the plate for the Red Raiders.

Jesse Roach Powers Overton in 20-A Opener

OVERTON -- Jesse Roach had two home runs and four RBIs, leading the Overton Mustangs to a 14-4 rout of Leverett's Chapel on Tuesday in the District 20-A opener for both teams.

Colby Carpenter was 2-for-4 with a homer, while Tanner Rhodes added a 2-for-4 performance at the plate.

Brayton Pierce got the win, allowing just three hits on the night.

Overton returns to action Friday at No. 9 Carlisle.

Carthage Run-Rules Center in 20-3A Opener

CARTHAGE --  Mackenzie Robinson went 4-for-4 with two home runs and six RBIs, while Samantha Clakley and Brooklyn Peace shut down Center's lineup in Carthage's 12-0 five-inning win Tuesday night.

Carthage (9-7, 1-0) got three innings of one-hit ball from Clakley, who struck out eight batters. Peace pitched the final two innings, holding Center hitless and striking out two.

Robinson also had a double to accompany her two long balls and six driven in. Clakley went 2-for-2 with a double and Ashleigh Edge added one double.

Carthage hosts Huntington at 6 p.m. Friday.
