When the region of East Texas and athletics are brought up, football is normally the first sport that comes to mind. And rightly so.

The area produced a state football champion every year from 2001-2011.

East Texas baseball, while not as consistently successful on the state level, has produced its fair share of state titles. In fact, there has has been a state champion representing East Texas in seven of the past nine season, including a run of four straight years from 2004-07.

Three schools have won multiple titles since 2004 -- Carthage (2005, 2009), Pleasant Grove (2010, 2012) and Bullard Brook Hill (TAPPS 2004, 2011, 2012).

The city of Texarkana has claimed four titles since '06 -- Liberty-Eylau in 2006, Texas High in 2009 and Pleasant's Grove two titles in previous three years.
