Basketball Roundup: Longview Tops Tyler Lee + Brownsboro Beats Tyler Grace

TYLER -- Longview remained unbeaten in District 12-5A play with a 55-36 win at Tyler Lee on Saturday.

Longview improved to 12-10 overall and 3-0 in 12-5A behind Dorian Leonard's 14 points. D'Keilan Lynch and Stephon Anthony scored 12 points apiece. Zaycoven Henderson added eight points, and Jordan Whitaker had six.

Caleb Johnston scored a team-high 11 points for Lee, which fell to 1-2 in district.

Longview hosts North Mesquite on Tuesday, when Lee visits Mesquite.

Big Fourth Quarter Propels Brownsboro to 62-47 Win at Tyler Grace

TYLER -- Brownsboro used a 14-point fourth-quarter edge to pull away for a 62-47 victory at Tyler Grace on Saturday.

Brownsboro led 27-25 at halftime and 40-39 entering the fourth quarter before a 22-8 fourth-quarter advantage pushed the Bears to the 15-point victory.

Trevor Gunter led Grace with 15 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks, while Verlo Levels added 12 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Andrew Melhart scored 10 points and dished five assists for the Cougars.

Grace opens district Tuesday night at Waco Reicher. Brownsboro opens District 15-3A play Friday at Van.
