ARP -- Phillip McKinney recorded a triple-double to lead Tyler Grace to an 82-61 win at Arp on Tuesday night.

McKinney scored 14 points, dished out 11 assists, and grabbed 10 rebounds to pace the Cougars, who improved to 8-4. Verlo Levels added a big double-double with 15 points, 15 rebounds, and three blocks, while Trevor Gunter added a team-high 18 points, six boards, and two blocks.

Grace, which held Arp to 34 percent shooting, hit 11 three-pointers. Andrew Melhart hit 4 of 9 from long range and finished with 14 points and three assists. Blake Johnson scored 12 points to give the Cougars five double-digit scorers. Thomas Nance added six points.

Grace claimed a significant edge at the free-throw line, where the Cougars made 17 of 20 attempts compared to Arp's 7-for-17 shooting.

Grace built a 38-25 halftime lead and extended it to 65-39 entering the fourth quarter.

Grace visits rival Tyler T.K. Gorman at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Class 2A No. 2 Clarksville Holds Off Class 3A No. 23 Spring Hill, 64-55

CLARKSVILLE -- The Lattier brothers reached double, but 3A No. 23 Spring Hill fell short at 2A No. 2 Clarksville, 64-55, on Tuesday night.

Clay Lattier led Spring Hill (9-4) with 15 points, while Adam Lattier added 13 points. Matt Williams had six points, seven assists, and four steals. Layne Patterson scored eight points for the Panthers, who got six points from Kendon Womack and five from Jordan Phelan.

Spring Hill's Ben Brundrett had a team-high 10 rebounds.

Spring Hill hosts Mount Pleasant on Friday.

No. 1 White Oak Rolls Over Winnsboro, 84-44

WHITE OAK -- The Sutton boys lit up Winnsboro on Tuesday night, combining for 44 points to lead Class 2A's No. 1 White Oak Roughnecks to an 84-44 victory at E.B. Carrington Gymnasium.

Skylar Sutton scored a game-high 23 points and had three assists and three steals, while Slade Sutton dropped in 21. White Oak 6-foot-7 senior Levi Yancy had a 10-point, 14-rebound triple double, and Josh Benson had 15 points, six rebounds, and three steals.

Point guard Kris Anderson chipped in five points and six assists. Colton Wood led Winnsboro with 16 points.

White Oak (12-0) has won 43 consecutive games dating to last season, when the Roughnecks won the 2A state championship. The 43-game streak is the third-longest active streak in the nation, according to MaxPreps.com.

White Oak hosts Union Grove on Dec. 21.

No. 7 Tatum Blows By Center, 81-31

TATUM -- Six Eagles scored at least seven points to fuel Class 2A's No. 7 Tatum to an 81-31 rout of Center on Tuesday night.

Devante Alexander scored a game-high 18 points for the Eagles, who improved to 7-3. Robbie Rockwell dropped in 16, and Cole Hughes added 12.

Tatum's Javolick Garrett scored 10 points, followed by Shaq Johnson's eight points and Jahee Johnson's seven.

Tatum hosts a tournament starting Thursday and running through Saturday. The Eagles face Woden at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.

Bullard Slips Past Pine Tree, 55-53

LONGVIEW -- Three Pirates scored in double figures, but Corbin Howard's 26 points led Bullard to a 55-53 victory at the Pirate Center on Tuesday night.

Caleb Chumley and Robert Hines scored 15 points apiece for Pine Tree, which got 13 points from Garrett Rayburn.

Bullard's Landen Beckham scored nine points. Hunter Landrum had six.

Bullard visits Van on Friday. Pine Tree plays in the Tatum tournament starting Thursday.

Shay Ross, D'Errica Campbell Lead Chapel Hill Over Van, 48-37

NEW CHAPEL HILL -- Shay Ross dropped a game-high 20 points, while D'Errica Campbell gave Chapel Hill a second double-figure scorer in the Lady Bulldogs' 48-37 win against Van on Monday.

Campbell scored 11 points for the Lady Bulldogs, who improved to 10-5. Gabby Brooks added six points.

Halle Carter led Van with 16 points. Lashannae Jones scored seven for the Lady Vandals, who got six points from Lexi Yowell.

Overton Holds Off Beckville for 36-31 Victory

OVERTON -- Overton built a six-point lead through three quarters and held on for a 36-31 victory against Beckville on Tuesday night in a district opener.

Abby Mackey led the Lady Mustangs with 12 points, while Heather Raney added eight points. Jiamesia Young had six.

Ivy Rieke had a huge game for Beckville (8-6, 0-1) with 14 points, 19 rebounds, and three steals. Teammate Maya Bradford had 10 points and eight boards. Devin Woodall had five points, six rebounds, and three assists.

Overton visits Carlisle on Friday. Beckville hosts Harleton at 6 p.m. Friday.

Three Players Score in Double Figures to lead Bullard Past Spring Hill, 47-38

BULLARD -- Bullard won a District 16-3A opener 47-38 over Spring Hill on Tuesday night behind double-digit performances form Lexi Abercrombie, Lexi Kirgan, and Bridgette Taylor.

Abercrombie scored a game-high 13 points, while Kirgan and Taylor each scored 12 points for Bullard (12-8, 1-0). Madison Martin led Spring Hill (6-9, 0-1) with 12 points.
