Basketball Roundup: Pollok Central Tops Rusk, Beckville Girls Improve to 2-1

POLLOK — Chase Ponson and Wesley Metts hit double figures to lead Pollok Central to a 63-38 win against Rusk on Tuesday.

Ponson scored a game-high 19 points, while Metts added 13 for the Dragons in the 25-point win. Tyler McHale scored nine points. Colton McQuilton, Grant Clifton, and Montana Barscum added five points apiece.

Five Rusk players scored at least five points: Ray Foreman (7), Jay Johnson (6), David Overstreet (6), Josh Ruiz (6), and D.J. Glenn (5).

Rusk (0-1) hosts West Rusk on Monday. Pollok Central faces Argyle on Saturday in Mabank.

Beckville improves to 2-1

BRYAN — Ivy Rieke and Maya Bradford powered Beckville to a 33-16 win at Allen Academy in Bryan on Tuesday.

Rieke had 12 points, 10 rebounds, and five steals, while Bradford added a game-high 14 points with seven boards and three steals.

Timpson hosts Beckville at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
