EUSTACE -- Jacksonville survived a serious upset bid from Lancaster on Tuesday as the Indians beat the Tigers 63-62 in overtime in a Class 4A Region II bi-district playoff.

Jacksonville, ranked 11th in the final Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class 4A poll, improved to 33-1 with the victory, which sends the Tribe to the area round against McKinney North, a 66-45 first-round winner over Texas High.

Trio Leads John Tyler to 62-58 Win

FORNEY -- Tyus Bowser, Fred Ross, and Isaac Warren reached double figures to lead John Tyler to a 62-58 Class 4A Region II bi-district win over Mansfield Summit on Tuesday at North Forney High School.

Bowser led John Tyler with 14 points, while Ross and Warren scored 13 apiece.

John Tyler plays Lucas Lovejoy at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Terrell in a 4A Region II area playoff.

Mansfield Legacy Knocks Out Whitehouse, 54-47

FORNEY -- Mansfield Legacy built a 13-point halftime lead en route to a 54-47 Class 4A Region II bi-district victory over Whitehouse on Tuesday at Forney High School.

Legacy led 42-29 at halftime before holding on the in second half for the win.

Whitehouse's season ended at 22-10.

Robbie Rockwell Lights It Up in No. 3 Tatum's Rout of Hawkins

LONGVIEW -- Robbie Rockwell hit a career-high 11 three-pointers to lead Tatum to an 85-41 Class 2A Region III bi-district rout of Hawkins at Spring Hill High School.

Rockwell hit six first-half triples and added five more in the second half to finish with 38 points in the victory.

Tatum faces No. 1 Kountze at 8:30 p.m. Friday at Angelina College in Lufkin. Tatum beat Kountze earlier in the season when both teams had players missing. Kountze is the only team to beat No. 2 White Oak, the defending the state champion. White Oak plays Newton at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Angelina in the first half of the high-profile doubleheader.

Wyatt Hairgrove's Double-Double Powers Joaquin Past Cushing

TENAHA -- Wyatt Hairgrove dropped 18 points, 10 assists, and six steals to lead Joaquin to an 84-44 blowout of Cushing in Tuesday's Class A Division I Region III bi-district playoff.

Ryan Hanks added 13 points and eight rebounds, while Will Vaughn had six points, seven rebounds, and seven steals for the Rams, who improved to 15-10. P.J. Peterson had seven points and eight boards. Zay Cooper scored 12 points and Steven Evans had eight.

Joaquin faces No. 8 San Augustine in a second-round matchup later this week.

Hunter Holder Keys Martinsville's Win Over Alto

LUFKIN -- Hunter Holder had 26 points and 13 rebounds to lead Martinsville to a Class A Division I Region III bi-district win over Alto on Tuesday.

Holder hit 11 of 14 free-throw attempts, while Peyton Burton hit three three-pointers and finished with 16 points. Casey Still added six points.

Martinsville plays Dallardsville Big Sandy later this week in a second-round matchup.

No. 16 Laneville Routs Leggett in Bi-District Matchup

POLLOK -- Donta Harris scored 23 points and Kendrick Anderson added 20 in No. 16 Laneville's 75-22 Class A Division II Region IV bi-district rout of Leggett on Tuesday.

Ty Johnson and Tralon Alexander scored nine points apiece for Laneville, which improved to 23-10. Basil Haamid and Jason Norsworthy scored six points each for Leggett.

Laneville plays No. 5 Calvert at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Grapeland in a 1A D-II Region IV area playoff.

No. 6 Crockett Fights Back to Take Down No. 18 Tatum

RUSK -- Sixth-ranked Crockett erased a first-half deficit to come back and eliminate No. 18 Tatum 63-56 in a Class 2A Region III quarterfinal.

Crockett advances to the 2A Region III tournament, where the Lady Bulldogs play No. 14 Crawford at 6 p.m. Friday at SFA's William R. Johnson Coliseum in Nacogdoches.

Tatum's season ended at 32-4.

Top-Ranked Martin's Mill Doubles Up Cayuga

CORSICANA -- No. 1 Martin's Mill got 19 points from Cassidy McCoy in a 50-25 Class A Division I Region III quarterfinal victory Tuesday at Corsicana.

McCoy hit five three-pointers on her way to the game-high 19 points.

Teammate Cheyenne Brown added 15 points, while Haily Jenkins had six points, eight assists, four steals, and three blocks for the Lady Mustangs, who improved to 29-5 on the season. Taylor Munns scored six points. Meagan Weatherford had four points and 10 rebounds.

Madison Spears led Cayuga with eight points, while Kylee Cross and Molly Griffey followed with six and five, respectively.

Martin's Mill plays No. 15 Zavalla at noon Friday at Tyler Junior College in a 1A D-I Region III semifinal. The game follows the first regional semifinal between No. 8 Slocum and undefeated No. 2 Martinsville, which tips off at 10 a.m.
