Defending Class 2A champion White Oak bounced back from its Tenaha Holiday Hoops championship loss to Kountze with Monday's 75-70 District 17-2A win at Waskom.

Levi Yancy scored 20 points and had 14 rebounds, five blocks, and four steals to lead the Roughnecks, who improved to 18-1 overall and 1-0 in 17-2A. Kris Anderson (seven assists), Josh Benson, and Slade Sutton scored 12 points apiece, while Hayden Nichols scored 10.

William McKnight led Waskom with 18 points, while Kris Monroe scored 14. Raymond Purvis and Kevin Johnson scored 13 points apiece.

Nick Orange, Trey Conrod Lead Kilgore Past Pine Tree

LONGVIEW -- Nick Orange scored 12 points and Trey Conrod added 11 to power Kilgore to a 58-36 win at Pine Tree on Monday.

Victor Hawkins led Pine Tree with 12 points, while teammate Robert Hines scored 10.

Preston Anderson Drops 45 on Palestine Westwood in 68-66 Cayuga Win

CAYUGA -- Hartford signee Preston Anderson exploded for 45 points to lead Cayuga to a 68-66 win against Palestine Westwood on Monday.

The win makes Cayuga 12-5 overall. The Wildcats were ranked seventh in Class A Division I in the last Texas Association of Basketball Coaches poll (released Dec. 17).
