Pine Tree football coach Derek Fitzhenry told ETSN.fm early Wednesday afternoon that Baylor head coach Art Briles was visiting with Caleb Chumley today.

Chumley is a 6-foot-5, 220-pound junior who has played receiver and quarterback for the Pirates and also starts on the PT basketball team. Fitzhenry said Briles was looking at Chumley at quarterback.

Chumley caught seven passes for 109 yards in Pine Tree's first seven games before a late-season move to quarterback, where he excelled in the Pirates' final three contests. He completed 46 of 99 passes for 832 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions, while rushing 52 times for 305 yards and five touchdowns in those three games.

In a 70-48 loss to Sulphur Springs, Chumley completed 24 of 58 passes for 417 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception and ran 25 times for 131 yards and five touchdowns.

Pine Tree finished 2012 with a 2-8 record.
