Beckville Advances to First State Tournament in School History

LONGVIEW -- The Beckville Ladycats reached the first state volleyball tournament in school history with a 25-23, 25-14, 21-25, 25-20 win over Jewett Leon in their Class 2A Region III final Saturday at Lobo Coliseum.

Beckville (40-8) will play in the 2A semifinals at either 5 or 7 p.m. Wednesday from the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland.

Jordan Tondreau led Beckville with 18 kills, one block, 3 assists, and 16 digs. Payton Jones added 18 kills, an ace, and 19 digs, Miranda Mize had seven kills, one assist, and four digs, Kinley Pepper finished with 47 assists, two kills, one ace, and 14 digs, while Courtlyn Nail chipped in with two aces and 22 digs.
