HARLETON -- Colton Searcy had a big game on both sides of the ball to lead Beckville to a 17-10 District 9-A Division I victory at Harleton on Friday night.

Searcy ran 10 times for 149 yards and collected 12 tackles on defense. Jalontrail Smith ran 13 times for 59 yards and a touchdown.

The win pushed Beckville to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in district entering Friday's home game against district-leading Carlisle (7-2, 4-0). A win puts Beckville in the playoffs, but a loss means the Bearcats may need help to reach the postseason. Joaquin (5-3, 3-1) and Harleton (6-3, 2-2) are also fighting for a postseason berth this week.

Joey Wharmby, who entered the game leading Beckville in tackles, had 14 stops against Harleton, which Beckville outgained 317-248. Wharmby also caught two passes for 48 yards as Braden Wise completed 5 of 8 passes for 89 yards. Jacari Reed had one rushing touchdown and nine tackles.

Beckville's Ben Travis had nine tackles and an interception, while Haston Adams added four tackles and a fumble recovery. Cameron Ross also recovered a fumble.

Joseph Earle led Harleton with 81 yards on 16 carries. Jed Smith ran 14 times for 68 yards. Taylor Henson, who had one rushing touchdown, completed 3 of 12 passes for 61 yards and an interception.
