Beckville Rolls into Regional Tournament With Sweep of MP Chapel Hill

LONGVIEW -- The Beckville Ladycats punched their ticket to the regional tournament with an easy 25-13, 25-19, 25-10 sweep of Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill in their Class 2A Region II quarterfinal Tuesday night.

Beckville (35-5) will face Ponder at 5:30 p.m. Friday from Midlothian High School in one regional semifinal. The other semi pits Callisburg against White Oak. The regional final is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday.

Kinley Blair led Beckville with 15 kills, four blocks, an ace, and 11 digs. Hannah Humphries added seven kills, one ace, and an ace, Riley Seegers colleceted six kills and a dig, while Kinley Pepper finished with 35 assists to go along with two aces and two digs.

North Lamar Sweeps Rains

SULPHUR SPRINGS -- The Emory Rains Ladycats' season came to an end with a 25-22, 25-20, 25-22 loss to Paris North Lamar on Tuesday night in their Class 4A Region II quarterfinal.

Rains (36-8) was led in defeat by Charlotte Bradshaw, who finished with 18 kills and 12 digs. Taylor Pruitt added eight kills, Summer Nerkowski had three kills, while the duo of Delaney Hill and McKenna Hildebrant combined for 13 blocks.

Shelbi Sheppard collected 26 assists and 17 digs, while Kenna Kellam and Anna Hooten added 12 digs apiece.
