After a strong senior season, Big Sandy's Isaiah Johnson is getting the recognition he earned.

The 6-foot-2 forward has been selected to the 14th Annual Texas Roundup All-Star Game at 5 p.m. March 16 in Maypearl. The event invites two dozen boys and two dozen girls who are among the top players in Classes A-3A.

Johnson had a monster season for Big Sandy, which finished 22-6 and lost 70-62 to No. 9 Kerens in the first round of the Class A Division I Region III playoffs. Johnson averaged 19.6 points, 10.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.6 steals, shooting 59.5 percent from the field and 42.2 percent from three-point range. Johnson made 63.1 percent of his two-point tries.

Players are chosen from statewide nominations.

The 3 p.m. girls all-star game precedes the 5 o'clock boys game. Maypearl is on FM 66 about 10 miles west of Waxahachie.
