Both Longview and Tyler Lee look to strengthen their position for the playoffs Tuesday night against the bottom of District 12-5A.

The Lobos (18-12, 8-2), one game behind district-leading Mesquite, host last-place Rockwall (10-18, 0-9). Longview won the first meeting, 55-34, on Jan. 11.

Longview is coming off a last-second victory at North Mesquite, 49-48, last Friday night.

Tyler Lee (19-9, 6-4), meanwhile, travels to Rockwall-Heath (6-16, 1-8). The Red Raiders won the earlier matchup, 64-49. Lee enters on the heels of a 65-56 win over third-place Mesquite Horn.

There are a couple of important games pertaining to the District 14-4A race. Entering Tuesday's action, Hallsville (11-17, 3-4) and Pine Tree (10-19, 3-4) are tied for the fourth and final postseason spot.

Hallsville plays at last-place Sulphur Springs (6-24, 0-7), while the Pirates host district-leading Marshall (22-8, 6-1).

In 16-4A, second-place John Tyler (11-14, 5-2) looks to avenge an earlier loss to Corsicana (21-8, 3-4) when the two hook up Tuesday at the Lions Den.

Corsicana, which is a game up on Nacogdoches for fourth in 16-4A, scored a 60-46 win over JT on Jan. 18. However, the Lions were without four players who were taking football recruiting visits that weekend.

The District 13-3A championship could be on the line Tuesday when No. 22 Pleasant Grove (18-7, 6-1) plays at Paris (6-1 in district).

There are also a pair of 2A games involving the top two teams in their respective districts.

Edgewood (19-10, 8-3 in 14-2A) plays at Winnsboro (8-3 in district), while Frankston (19-8, 10-1) tries to force a tie at the top of the 18-2A standings with a road win at Troup (19-9, 11-0).

District 25-A Division II has four teams ranked in the top 25, and there is plenty to be sorted beginning with Tuesday's action.

The marquee matchup features 16th-ranked Douglass (22-6, 7-3) at No. 6 Oakwood (15-5, 8-1), a battle between the league's first- and second-place teams. The other big one is Kennard (16-8, 5-4) at No. 18 Laneville (18-8, 5-4).
