Two of "the big three" in District 16-4A square off against one another Tuesday night when Whitehouse (17-5, 1-0) visits the Lions Den to take on John Tyler (7-12, 1-0).

Whitehouse is coming off a 79-57 over Corsicana on Friday, in which Jake Parker had 24 points and Patrick Mahomes added 20.

John Tyler got a balanced scoring effort to defeat Nacogdoches, 79-51, last Friday in its district opener. The Lions were led by Jordan Caldwell's 14 points, but also had Isaac Warren (13 points) and Greg Ward (12) reach double figures in scoring.

Also in 16-4A, 12th-ranked and undefeated Jacksonville (24-0, 1-0) goes on the road to face Corsicana (19-5, 0-1). The Indians defeated Lindale, 49-22, last Friday.

Staying in 4A, Marshall (17-7, 1-0) travels to Mount Pleasant 14-8, 1-0) in what could end up being huge in the way of determining the District 14-4A championship.

In District 12-5A, the Longview Lobos (14-10, 5-0) look to stay perfect in league play when they go on the road to face perennial power Mesquite.
