Fresh off an overtime win at Whitehouse, Jacksonville ascended into the top 10 of Monday’s Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class 4A poll.

Jacksonville, which remains undefeated at 28-0, moved up from 12th to 10th in this week’s poll.

Chapel Hill moved up three spots to 19th in Class 3A, which also saw Pleasant Grove drop five spots to 22nd. White Oak remained at No. 2 in Class 2A, while district rival Tatum moved up one spot to No. 3, setting up a top-three showdown Friday at Eagle Coliseum. Palestine Westwood slipped two places to 19th.

But Class A is where East Texas flexes its muscles.

Six teams were ranked in Monday’s Class A Division I poll, along with five more in the Class A Division II poll. No. 3 Grapeland, No. 6 Cayuga, and No. 8 San Augustine led the way in 1A D-I, followed by No. 12 LaPoynor, No. 15 Tenaha, and No. 21 West Sabine.

In 1A D-II, Oakwood was the top East Texas team at No. 7. Saltillo moved up one spot to 11th, while Chireno moved up three spots to 12th. Laneville dropped five spots to No. 15.  Douglass jumped into the poll at No. 17 to give District 25-A D-II four ranked teams: Oakwood, Chireno, Laneville, and Douglass.
