BULLARD -- The Bullard Brook Hill Guard picked up a couple of wins Thursday to clinch a playoff spot out of TAPPS District 2-4A.

Brook Hill started the day with a 9-2 win over Tyler Bishop Gorman, and finished with a 6-4 defeat of Frisco Legacy Christian.

In the playoff-clinching win over Frisco Legacy, Parker Clark led the way by going 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Blake Maddox doubled, drove in a run, scored and drew two walks, while McCray Fletcher was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

Ryan Cox got the win in relief, allowing no runs on two hits with three strikeouts and one walk in 5 1/3 innings.

The Guard erupted for six runs in the sixth inning to break open their win over Gorman.

Jace Kuechle led Brook Hill, going 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles, two RBIs and a run scored. Maddox doubled and drove in two, and Logan Langford was 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and run scored.

Langford started the game, working three innings and allowing no earned runs on two hits with two walks. Josh Jenkins pitched the next three innings, allowing no runs on only one hit with four strikeouts and one walk.
