TYLER -- The Bullard Lady Panthers overcame a district opponent for the third time this season, and in the process, punched a ticket to the regional tournament for the second-straight year.

Bullard's hot shooting from the outside early, and low-post presence down the stretch wore down Chapel Hill, 54-36, in their Class 4A Region II quarterfinal Monday night at Wagstaff Gym.

The Lady Panthers (31-6), which defeated Chapel Hill (27-10) twice during 15-4A action, will face either Dallas Lincoln or Argyle in one regional semifinal Friday from Texas A&M-Commerce.

Bullard, which had connected on 25 three-pointers in its first two playoff wins, only hit on eight Monday. However, half of those came in the first quarter, which ended with Bullard leading, 20-8.

Meanwhile, junior post Allie Kirgan was busy dominating the paint the rest of the way. She finished with a game-high 18 points to go along with five rebounds and five blocks.

Hanna Lloyd hit four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points in the win. Sydney Foster added nine points, seven rebounds, and six assists, while Lauren Zachry had eight points, three boards, and three assists.

Bullard raced out to a 14-point lead in the opening quarter, and never looked back. Chapel Hill was unable to cut the deficit to single digits the rest of the night.

Mykaela Alfred led Chapel Hill with 10 points. Kyia Moore chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, four steals, and two assists.
