WHITE OAK -- Bullard's defense kept White Oak's vaunted offense at bay, and the Panthers handed the Roughnecks their first loss of 2015 on Friday night with a 23-20 win.

Bullard scored almost as many points as White Oak had allowed (25) through its first four games. And the Roughnecks scored more than 20 points less than it had been averaging this season.

Brooks Parham scored on a 3-yard touchdown run and Hood Taylor hit Nic Costas for a 35-yard touchdown for Bullard's offensive touchdowns. Mikah Hughes helped Bullard (3-2) get on the scoreboard first when he recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown in the first quarter.

White Oak (4-1) rallied from a two-touchdown deficit to get within 16-14 after Connor Hearron scored on a 1-yard touchdown run and Cade Palmer found Dax Davis for an 8-yard touchdown.

Palmer later hit Logan Rowe for a 53-yard touchdown.
