BULLARD -- For the first time in nearly two decades, the Bullard Panthers enter training camp with swagger.

"Our swag went way up," Bullard senior Houston Alexander said. "We stick our chest out now. We represent Bullard, Texas and play for the 'B.'"

A community used to quiet Novembers, had special one 2011. The Panthers picked up their first two playoff wins in program history.

"It gives us more hope now that we've actually done it," Bullard senior Zack Holladay said. "So we know what it's like to win. Now that we know, we know what to look forward to."

Topping a historic season will not be easy.  The Panthers have been moved to the new 'District of Doom.' District 16-3A includes defending state champ Chapel Hill, Gilmer, Gladewater, Henderson, Kilgore and Spring Hill.

"We finally do good and they throw us in here with all these state championship teams," Holladay said.  "But I think we can do well. We have many returning starters."
