Bullard Lady Panthers Grab 3-2 Win In Game 1 Vs. Paris North Lamar

MINEOLA -- The Bullard Lady Panthers came from behind to earn a 3-2 win over Paris North in Game 1 of their Class 3A Region II area-round playoff series.

Bullard can win the series with a victory in Game 2, which is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday in Mineola. A third game, if necessary, would directly follow.

The Lady Panthers scored twice in the fifth inning to rebound from an early 2-1 deficit. The tying and go-ahead runs were scored on an RBI single by Kristi "Coco" Springer and groundout by Ashleigh Gillard.

Bullard grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the second before North Lamar answered with two runs in the bottom half.

Springer got the win in the circle. She allowed no earned runs on three hits with nine strikeouts and three walks in seven innings.
