Joseph Clark planned to attend one junior day this weekend, but that was before another school invited him a second event.

Clark is headed south Saturday to visit UTSA, which had previously invited him to the junior day. Clark will travel a short distance north on I-35 on Sunday to visit Texas State, which provided a last-minute junior day invitation for the 5-foot-9, 175-pounder.

Clark, who played running back and safety for Chapel Hill in 2012, said UTSA is recruiting him as a defensive back. Clark had a strong junior campaign with 104 tackles, four for loss, one sack, three interceptions, three forced fumbles, and three pass breakups.

Clark joins Wesley Thompson as two potential Division I FBS recruits in Chapel Hill's 2014 football class. Thompson is a 6-foot-2, 190-pounder who has played multiple positions, but perhaps most notably linebacker.

Thompson and Clark, who said he's moving from safety to linebacker for the 2013 season, give Chapel Hill a strong duo to build its linebacker corps around entering the fall.
