MELISSA -- Canton will finish the weekend in a three-team tie for second place thanks to its 33-14 win Friday at Melissa.

The victory helped the Eagles keep pace with Emory Rains' 2-1 District 5-4A Division II record. The loser of today's Bullard-Gilmer game will join the two teams in the standings spot.

Running back Jordan Jackson did most of the damage against Melissa. He rushed for 258 yards of Canton's 443 total yards in the game and scored twice on his 27 carries.

Quarterback Hunter Moore also had a good showing in poor weather conditions. He threw a touchdown pass and completed 6 of 12 throws for 101 yards while also running for 61 net yards.

The Eagles will visit Rains this week and then finish the regular season Nov. 6 against Bullard.
