Canton defensive end and tight end Samuel Miller is the 16th East Texan in the Class of 2015 to have at least one college football scholarship.

Miller received an offer from the UT-San Antonio staff after visiting its campus this weekend. It's his first college football option.

The Canton product is an athletic 6-3, 220-pound trench player, and Miller probably has the most upside on the defensive line at the next level. He's very quick, sheds blocks nicely and takes good angles on ball carriers downfield.

Miller is the first rising senior in the region to have an offer from the Roadrunners. UTSA became the 42nd unique school to offer a 2015 East Texas player with Syracuse entering the market earlier in the day for Nacogdoches cornerback Jaylon Lane.

UTSA head coach Larry Coker has been at the helm of the program since it began NCAA football in 2010. The coach is most famous for guiding Miami to an era of prominence in the early 2000s.

The Roadrunners went 7-5 in 2013 with a 6-2 record and second-place finish in Conference USA. This upcoming season will be the four-year-old program's first bowl-eligible season.

Miller recorded 89 tackles as a junior, 26 of the tackles for loss, as well as four sacks and three forced fumbles.
