Carthage Advances To Third Round Of Volleyball Playoffs With Sweep Of Gatesville

CORSICANA -- The Carthage Lady Dawgs scored a 25-21, 25-12, 25-23 sweep of Gatesville on Thursday night in their Class 4A Region III area-round playoff.

Carthage (29-11) will face Robinson in the regional quarterfinals at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Palestine High School.

Marisah Ingram led the way for the Lady Dawgs with nine kills, seven blocks and three aces. Alli Capps added seven kills, Kamry Smith provided five kills and 15 digs, and Faith Landreneaux chipped in with five kills of her own.

Kenzie Templeton registered 25 assists, and Kaitlyn Nutt recorded a team-high 17 digs.
