Carthage Caps Madisonville Series With 14-0 Win

GARY -- Carthage put the finishing touches on Madisonville's season in a 14-0 win Saturday in Gary.

With a series win of two games to none, the Bulldogs will take on Waco Robinson in the Class 4A Region III quarterfinal round.

Carthage recorded 14 hits to go with its 14 runs. Micah Templeton helped lead the way with three RBIs, a triple and a double.

Seth Ballenger, Jarod Blissett, Anthony Chhor and Troy Davis also recorded multiple hits in the game.

The pitching staff allowed Madisonville two hits.

Cagan Baldree threw six innings, struck out three along the way and allowed a walk in addition to the two hits. Cole Clinton closed the series with a perfect seventh inning.

Carthage's series with Robinson will begin at 6 p.m. Friday. Game 2 will follow Saturday at 2 p.m. with a potential third game to follow.

The entire series will be played at Mesquite's Tillery Field.
