NACOGDOCHES -- Carthage defeated Gary, 14-0, and Joaquin, 4-0, Thursday in action at the Nacogdoches Central Heights-Cushing Tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs opened the day with Gary.

Hope Kruebbe led the team with 2-for-3 hitting, three RBIs and two runs scored in the five-inning, run-ruled shortened win. Kimberlyn Worsham added another four RBIs and one run scored while Keighly Reynolds Lexie Dawson also contributed to the victory with multiple hit games.

Jordyn Morgan earned the win in the circle with seven strikeouts through five innings.

Carthage starting pitcher Taylor Willis fanned 13 Joaquin batters later in the day and only allowed two hits. Willis batted a perfect 2-for-2 in the meeting as well.

Krystin Martin went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double to lead all Carthage players against Joaquin. Kaitlynn Earle batted 2-for-3.

The Lady Bulldogs (5-1) will be back in action at the Central Heights-Cushing Tournament today with an 11:30 a.m. first pitch against Central Heights and a 7 p.m. nightcap against Diboll.
