Carthage Softball Team Earns 7-2 Win Over Jasper

CARTHAGE -- The Carthage Lady Dawgs earned a 7-2 win over Jasper on Monday night.

Morgan Downs got the win on the mound, allowing just one earned run on five hits with six strikeouts and one walk in seven innings.

All nine Carthage players recorded at least one hit. The Lady Dawgs were led offensively by Ashleigh Edge, who was 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and a run scored. Brianna Gwinn went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and a stolen base, and Kaitlynn Earle also had two hits.

Carthage continues its season Tuesday night at Henderson.
