Carthage Softball Tops Elkhart In Opener

ELKHART -- Carthage found the win column in its first game of the 2017 season, a 10-4 victory at Elkhart.

Kalli Cuff batted 2-for-4 for the Lady Dawgs with a double and three RBIs to lead the team offensively.

Taylor Willis struck out five while allowing three hits and three runs through the first four innings. Chelcie Pierce closed the game with three strikeouts with one hit and one run allowed.

Carthage will host a 32-team tournament this weekend. Elkhart will be one of the participants and opens its time with a game Thursday against Joaquin.
