Carthage's 2014 class is loaded, and the man at the helm of that group is headed to an invitation-only camp at the end of January.

Carthage junior quarterback Blake Bogenschutz has been invited to participate in the Texas Top 100 camp hosted by Next Level Athlete. The event, which is one of two put on by Next Level Athlete, is Jan. 27 in Lancaster.

Participants are selected from hundreds of nominees across the state made by coaches. The camp will feature athletes competing against each other in 1-on-1 situations and in drills, though no combine exercises will be included. Video of each athlete will be sent to major college programs across the country.

During the last three years, the Texas Top 100 camp has hosted more than 400 athletes who have received Division I scholarships, according to the camp's press release.

Bogenschutz threw for 2,870 yards, 38 touchdowns, and nine interceptions in 2012, when the 6-foot-1, 182-pound right-hander led Carthage to an 11-3 record and Class 3A Division I state semifinal appearance. He also ran for two touchdowns.

Bogenschutz' 2012 passing yardage and touchdown passes each rank third in Carthage single-season history. Bogenschutz trails Anthony Morgan by 1,458 yards for Carthage's career record. He's 22 touchdown passes behind Morgan's school record of 84.

Two members of East Texas' 2013 class attended the 2012 Texas Top 100 camp: Whitehouse receiver Dylan Cantrell (committed to Texas Tech) and Longview quarterback Bivins Caraway (committed to ULM).
