There will be two Carthage Bulldogs wide receivers headed to Sam Houston State to play football in the fall.

On Monday, Carthage's Dee Bowens announced his college commitment to the Bearkats via Twitter on Monday, following in the footsteps of his teammate Dewaylon Ingram.

Bowens (5-7, 150) chose Sam Houston over other Division I scholarship offers from Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Alcorn State, and Incarnate Word.

Last season, Bowers finished with 1,405 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns to lead state champion Carthage.

Sam Houston State competes in the Southland Conference of the NCAA's Division I FCS subdivision. The Bearkats finished the season with a 12-2 record, falling to North Dakota State in the playoffs.

Bowens can officially sign with Sam Houston State on Wednesday, National Signing Day.
