Carthage junior running back Keaontay Ingram won a state championship in December, was named the Offensive MVP of that game, and has since exploded onto the national recruiting scene.

On Monday, another preeminent college football program joined the pursuit.

Ingram (6-0, 198) announced via Twitter that Florida State became the latest school to offer him.

The Seminoles are the 24th FBS team to offer Ingram, who holds invitations from some of the biggest names in college football, including LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M.

Ingram is the second East Texan in the 2018 recruiting class to be offered by Florida State, joining Arp safety DeMarvion Overshown, who leads the area in offers with 27.

Florida State is coached by Jimbo Fisher. FSU, which claimed the 2013 national championship, has finished 10-3 in each of the past two seasons. Florida State defeated Michigan in the Orange Bowl to cap 2016.

The Seminoles are 78-17 in seven seasons under Fisher.

In 2016, Ingram closed the season with the Offensive MVP award in Carthage’s 31-17 win against Abilene Wylie for the title. He scored on the ground twice in the title match, including the tying touchdown that brought the Dawgs back from a 14-0 deficit.

Ingram, who is the No. 1-ranked running back in the state of Texas' 2018 class by Scout.com, eclipsed 2,200 rushing yards in 15 games, scored 31 times on the ground and caught 46 passes for a little more than 400 yards.

Like all college football prospects currently in their junior year of high school, Ingram will become eligible to sign with any school that offers him in February of 2018.
