Cayuga senior linebacker Donald Holly III is taking an official visit to Texas State this weekend, Holly told ETSN.fm on Tuesday afternoon.

Holly has hoped to visit the San Marcos school for a while since the Bobcats visited him in Cayuga during spring practice.

"I've been trying to get with them. That's the first one that came and visited," Holly said. "They have a good agricultural program, and I plan on going into the agricultural field."

Asked if he would like an offer from the Bobcats during the visit, Holly said, "I hope so. That's really my plan, to let them know I am legitimately interested."

The 6-foot-1, 210-pound Holly has 50 tackles through Cayuga's first five games. Cayuga is 3-2 entering Friday's District 6-A Division I opener at home against Kerens (2-3).

"I think right now I'm coming into my own," Holly said. "I think it's going to be a good season."
