The second Division I scholarship opportunity for Tyler Lee safety Makyle Sanders has arrived.

Central Arkansas reached out to the rising senior Saturday evening and invited him to join their program upon high school graduation next year. Sanders reported the news through his personal Twitter account in addition announcing an offer from Missouri State, a Division II school.

Sanders (6-1, 177) now has three college football options in total. His list is rounded out by an FBS offer from the United States Naval Academy.

Central Arkansas is actively recruiting Longview safety Traveion Webster as well as Sanders. John Tyler offensive lineman Adrian Harris, a current senior, signed with the Bears program in February.

Head coach Steve Campbell will be back for a third season in Conway, Ark., on the heels of a decent 2015 season. The Bears posted a 7-4 overall record and tied for second place in the Southland Conference alongside Sam Houston State.

Unfortunately for Campbell and company, Sam Houston State defeated Central Arkansas in the final game of the regular season. Sam Houston State received an at-large FCS playoffs bid in lieu of the Bears and joined Southland champion McNeese State in the tournament.

Central Arkansas most recently reached the postseason in 2012. The squad has been to two FCS postseasons in total, a nice start for a program that only started competing at the level in 2007.

Sanders racked up 105 tackles with two interceptions and 12 passes broken up for Lee during his junior season. The team finished 5-5 in 2015 and tied for third place in District 11-6A, but it missed out on the postseason due to tiebreakers.

Lee will remain in 11-6A this fall and welcomes a few new district mates in longtime rivals John Tyler and Longview. Mesquite, Mesquite Horn, North Mesquite, Rockwall and Rockwall-Heath make up the rest of the league.

Like all Class of 2017 high school football prospects, Sanders will become eligible to sign with any program that offers him on Feb. 1, 2017.
