TEXARKANA -- Atlanta junior Chase Musgrove beat Pleasant Grove with his arm and feet Friday at Hawk Stadium.

The Rabbits’ signal-caller threw for 151 yards and two first-half touchdowns and added two one-yard touchdown sneaks in the third quarter as Atlanta topped the Hawks, 41-21.

Over the last 3:21 of the first half and 17:51 of the second half, the Rabbs (4-3, 1-1) scored five consecutive touchdowns.

Nigel Johnson caught three passes for 119 yards and a score, Musgrove rushed for 159 yards on 18 carries, and DeQuan Allen added 111 yards on 14 rushes. The Rabbs had 316 yards on the ground and 467 total yards of offense.

Jace Flowers raced 10 yards with 6:09 left in the game for the final Atlanta score.

Pleasant Grove quarterback Hunter Hatfield tossed a late score to Carson Craytor from 24 yards out, and Hatfield also had a three-yard scoring run. Hatfield led the ground attack with 77 yards on 16 carries. Fullback Makale Hawkins had 72 yards and a score on 11 rushes.

Musgrove threw his second touchdown of the first half on a 64-yard connection with Johnson in the final minute to give Atlanta a 20-14 lead at halftime.

Musgrove was 5-for-6 passing for 110 yards in the first half, his one miss a one-handed interception by PG safety Dylan Silvey at the Hawk 2 with 4:10 left in the second quarter. Musgrove finished 6-for-8.

That field position ended up costing Pleasant Grove (1-6, 0-2), which dropped the ball to the turf five times in the first half, including its only lost fumble on the second play after Silvey's pick. Rabb linebacker Damien Lawson recovered the fumble to tie the game.

The Hawks drove 75 yards on eight plays on their first possession with Hawkins breaking free up the middle for a 32-yard touchdown scamper with 6:16 left in the first quarter. Two possessions later, Atlanta answered on Musgrove's nine-yard toss to Zach Marsh to knot the score.

Hunter Hatfield bulled his way in from the 3-yard line for PG's second lead with 6:19 remaining in the second period. After the Rabbs drove to midfield on their ensuing drive, Silvey picked off Musgrove.

Atlanta then scored 13 unanswered points in the last 3:21 of the half.

Pleasant Grove visits Paris next week, while Atlanta hosts Paris North Lamar.
