HUNTSVILLE -- Chavis Gregory scored three touchdowns to lead the Tenaha Tigers to a 24-7 victory over Bremond in their Class A Division II Region III final Friday night at Sam Houston State's Bowers Stadium.

Gregory recovered a blocked punt in the end zone and added rushing and receiving touchdowns as Tenaha (11-1) advanced to a state-semifinal matchup with Falls City (13-0) -- a 55-0 winner over La Pryor -- at 7:30 p.m. next Friday from Waco ISD Stadium.

Tenaha and Bremond (12-1) played to a scoreless first quarter before the Tigers took advantage on special teams with a blocked punt that Gregory recovered across the goal line for a 6-0 lead.

Gregory was in the middle of everything again later in the quarter, hauling in a 43-yard touchdown pass from J.R. Hill, which sent the Tigers into halftime with a 12-0 lead.

A 41-yard touchdown run by Gregory at the 6:56 mark of the third quarter pushed the Tenaha lead to 18-0 before Bremond got on the board with quarterback Rayandre Browning's 25-yard scoring run later in the third.

Hill effectively put the game out of reach with a 43-yard touchdown run with 5:51 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Tenaha's game with Falls City next week is a rematch of last year's state semifinal, a 42-14 Tenaha win. A victory next week would send the Tigers to their third consecutive state championship game.
