CARTHAGE -- The Carthage Lady Dawgs earned an 8-4 win over Tatum, Saturday in game that was suspended Friday because of inclement weather.

Carthage led 2-0 in the middle of the second inning, when heavy rains and lightning postponed the action until Saturday.

Chelcie Pierce pitched the final five innings for the win, allowing one earned run on four hits with three strikeouts. She also went 3-for-4 at the plate with a triple, double, and four RBIs.

Kayman Courtney was 2-for-4 with an RBI, two steals, and a run scored. Carson Robertson and Kimberlyn Worsham each drove in one run.

Carthage (19-4-2, 3-0 in District 16-4A) returns to action Tuesday night at home against Henderson.
